Interfaith Action of Monroe County

Each year Interfaith Action of Monroe County sponsors a Diversity Dinner to celebrate the diversity of the people in our community and to foster appreciation for the cultures represented in our area. Local restaurants donate ethnic foods to supplement the favorite dishes that participants bring to share with one another. This year's Diversity Dinner will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday, September 14th at the Blanche Price Memorial Park in Pocono Pines. The public is cordially invited to join the festivities, which will also feature a variety of musical selections.

Interfaith Action seeks to foster tolerance, respect and appreciation for diversity in our communities and promotes tolerance education and empowerment and responds to acts of intolerance that occur in the community. If you would like more information about the Diversity Dinner or wish to offer a brief presentation celebrating your heritage at the Dinner, please call 839-9346.

It’s hard to believe summer is coming to an end! As the weather gets cooler and the leaves begin to change, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming new year. What do you want the next twelve months to hold? I believe it is fun to create a list of resolutions on the day of Rosh Hashanah to outline what goals you want to accomplish in the next year. Would you like to earn better grades? Maybe you would like to be more organized? Write them down on your resolution list! You can also add an alternate list of your accomplishments that occurred in the past year. This way, you can really see how much you’ve grown over the course of twelve months, and then evaluate how much more you can grow in the next twelve. Enjoy the new year, and the first day of school!
